Modality-Agnostic. Evidence-Respectful.
Afterglow is the infrastructure, not the content opinion. Bring your method, your materials, and your clinical judgement. Our authored content library, developed with Dr Edmund Neuhaus of McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School, covers Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems for practitioners who want to use it.

Two of the Modalities We Author
Examples of frameworks the Afterglow content library covers. Practitioners are free to use them, ignore them, or bring their own.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Being human is to experience a wide range of thoughts and emotions: love, happiness, and fulfilment alongside sadness, hurt, fear, and doubt. When people are distressed they tend to believe their negative thoughts and become stuck. Thoughts are not facts. We don't have to believe everything we think.
ACT offers a path to get unstuck and increase psychological flexibility. It starts with empathy to validate one's experience. From there it is allowing and accepting thoughts and emotions to be whatever they are and still living the life one desires.
ACT helps people connect with the values that guide their lives toward meaning and purpose, on their own terms. Put simply, ACT combines mindfulness and self-compassion with meaningful behaviour change anchored in personal values.
Internal Family Systems
We are all made up of many parts, each with its own voice, emotions, and role in our inner world. Some parts protect us, some carry our pain, and others express our creativity and potential. These parts can become stuck in patterns of fear, conflict, or overwhelm, making it hard to feel calm, connected, or safe.
IFS offers a compassionate framework for understanding and working with these parts, rather than being ruled by them. At its core is the belief that we all have an innate Self: a calm, confident, and wise centre capable of guiding our inner system toward balance and harmony.
Through IFS, people learn to listen to their parts with curiosity and compassion, build internal trust, and create meaningful shifts in their behaviour and relationships. IFS turns internal dialogue into a tool for healing and growth.
